About the artist

Roger Fritz (born 22 September 1936 in Mannheim & died 26 January 2021 in Munich) trained as a baker. From 1954, he assisted the photographer Herbert List. As a professional photographer, Fritz won the Photokina prize in Cologne in 1954 and 1956. He worked for magazines such as Stern, Quick, the French Vogue, Bunte, and many others. Later, he was a co-founder of the magazine Twen.

Fritz also acted in films such as „Boccaccio 70“ with Romy Schneider and Sophia Loren in 1962. He lived abroad in places including Rome and New York before producing his first own short film, „Zimmer im Grünen“, in 1961. His first feature film, „Mädchen, Mädchen“ from 1967, was a commercial success. The lead actress, Helga Anders, won the German Film Award for it, whom Fritz married in 1967.

Klaus Löwitsch received the German Film Award in 1969 for his subsequent film „Mädchen mit Gewalt“.

Fritz directed and starred in numerous other films, for example alongside Stefania Casini in „Sonne der Gerechtigkeit“ (1971). He also worked together on several films with Rainer Werner Fassbinder.

He was seen multiple times on German television in the 1970s, 1980s and 2000s, for example in „Berlin Alexanderplatz“ (1980), „Tatort“ (1983), „Ein Fall für Zwei“ (1986), „Der Fahnder“ (1991), „Natalie-Die Hölle nach dem Babystrich“ (1997), „Nicht mit uns“ (2000), „Daniel-Der Zauberer“ (2004).

Roger Fritz lived and worked primarily in Munich, mainly as a contemporary photographer.

Multi-media, an enchanted saying. May an insight into my world also enchant you. The Bavarian Books. As well as the unsettling world of love in my films.

We were there for the second time and are simply delighted with the hotel once again. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and every single room is just so well furnished. The next short holiday in this hotel is already planned 🙂

Beautiful and fairly central location in a lively neighbourhood. Wonderful, spotlessly clean room with a good bed and great breakfast. Service and booking, as well as help with problem solving (self-inflicted) was perfect. Thanks again for that! You have to be aware that the parking facilities are a few metres away from the hotel itself (but at a reasonable price) and that the hotel does not have a lift. On hot summer nights, the lack of air conditioning (at least in this room under the roof) could be a the roof) could be a drawback, but was not an issue during this stay. Overall a great stay stay and a highly recommended accommodation. We will be back.

Room was clean and very nice, reception very friendly. Nice little touches little touches such as kettle, hot water bottle, coffee/tea, hairdryer and hair straightener. We were thrilled! The price-performance ratio is definitely right. The city centre and train station, as well as numerous cafés and bistros are within easy walking distance. The "Big in Japan" room has a friendly, quiet atmosphere to make you feel at home.

Highly recommended! A well-designed hotel with a unique concept - each room is individually designed by artists and you can feel it in every detail. We felt completely at ease and would come back anytime! come back again! There was a little curiosity in the "Love-Lyric-Lounge": intimacy is very important here is very important here - so much so that even the toilet has no partition. This requires a certain closeness or takes it to a whole new level. But those who love each other share everything, right?

It was perfect for us Beautiful accommodation in a great location. There is no lift, you have to climb some stairs. We didn't mind, but you should know that.

Feel-good rooms in a city hotel - simply great. I particularly liked the fact that there are different themed rooms. This creates a very individual and personal atmosphere. You can see a lot of attention to detail in the rooms and the hotel should retain this. Simply beautiful. The breakfast at the Hotel Mercure was was also very appealing and there was plenty to choose from. We'll see you again :-).
